AIG created the general insurance company
in Kenya during 1972, then operating as ALICO General
Division. Following the sale of the life business to
a local company, ALICO General Division became AIG Kenya
Insurance Co. Ltd in December 2004.
The company has since become the second largest general
insurance operation in the country. It responds to all
general insurance needs of the business community as
well as the public at large. The Company prides itself
on its responsiveness and innovation in the field of
general insurance. AIG Kenya's product line covers all
the conventional areas of insurance as well as some
unconventional business areas such as Pension Trustee
Liability and Sabotage, Terrorism, Product Tamper and
